Same with a whole dozen SKODA Fabia Super 2000 is in the fifth round of this year’s IRC Championships next weekend in the Belgian town of Ypres. In the Ypres Rally will measure a total of twelve cars with the winged arrow forces with the toughest rivals Peugeot. The factory driver Freddy Loix and Jan Kopecký are among the top favorites of the rally, which also represents also the fourth round of the current European Championship. As the toughest competitor of the Škoda Motorsport team work are the young Belgian Neuville and the Frenchman Bouffier, the show in the current classification of the IRC third and fourth place. The reigning European champion Luca Rossetti is at the start.
A total of at least 31 vehicles in the Super 2000 category going into the race. The distance profile of the Belgian rally is unique in the IRC series. On long, straight sections, the teams may leave their top-intensive. At the sharp end of the line waiting, often 90-degree turns, which again follow a long straight sections. The highest point is only 147 meters above sea level. For a total of 288 km the riders will need almost 30 hours.
SKODA pilot’s Freddy Loix, with high expectations in the rally and was his seventh victory in sight: “It is fantastic to work with this strong Škoda Motorsport team. Of course I want to win. But that is not easy. Here are a lot of good riders at the start and we will have to drive very precisely. When my biggest competitor for the win I see Jan Kopecký and Thierry Neuville. ”
After two second places in the last two years, aiming, Jan Kopecký this year at number one in Belgium: “We are delighted to Ypres and will make every effort to enter the win. The conditions are good, but ending up at the very front end, we certainly need some luck. “
