Solarstom for lithium-ion batteries Nissan offers 2012

Nissan LEAF
Nissan and the 4R Energy Corporation have developed a charging system for electric vehicles, is used in the solar energy to recharge lithium-ion batteries. Initial tests with the new system have now begun in the Nissan headquarters in Yokohama. This renewable energy source results over the entire operating cycle, a completely CO2-free driving the Nissan LEAF.

The solar cells to generate electricity are installed on the roof of the building group. Serve as a store lithium-ion batteries, their capacity corresponds to the equivalent of four Nissan LEAF. The plant on the grounds of the headquarters with a total of seven charging stations – four normal and three for fast-charge (“quick charging”) – can power a year for around 1,800 full loads of Nissan LEAF save and produce.

In addition, the 4R Energy Corporation, one in September 2010 established joint-venture between Nissan and Sumitomo Corporation, already successful tests with a compact electrical storage system has begun at the used batteries from the Nissan LEAF can be reused. These batteries are not sufficiently powerful to fit for use in wind and weather in the car, but after reprocessing competent enough for a “second life”
